“If she be a wall we will build upon her a wall of silver: and if she be a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar” (Song of Solomon 8:9)
This post goes out to all of my darling young women. We are living in a time where society promotes ideas like “hooking up” or “friends with benefits” as common euphemisms for casual sex. Society promotes promiscuity as a trendy, normal, way for a young woman to live but if a young woman wants to save herself for marriage then she is considered “prudish” or an anomaly.
Listen my darlings, what society doesn’t tell you is that all of these casual seemingly harmless, sexual encounters are very heavy! You end up with a lot of emotional baggage that you carry around with you from one relationship to another. Over time, this baggage becomes heavier and heavier and your self worth, your self respect, and self image get lost in that baggage. With every encounter, you loose a part of yourself and it becomes harder to know who you really are.
Your body is a temple not a visitors center, you have been fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). Stop living like your body is a rest area of the interstate and live like you have been created by the most high God. Elevate your mind, elevate your opinion of yourself and dump that used, beat up baggage where it belongs – in the dumpster!
