Style Reinvention – Beauty In and Out

Okay lovelies,

Here we are to talk about one of my favorite topics – FASHION! Yay! Okay, so I am basically a self-made “fashionista”; all my life, I have loved clothes, color, accessories and all the cool stuff that comes with being a girly girl.  Proverbs tell us in 31:22 – “She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple”, some reference bibles describe this verse as a woman whose clothing shows marks of refinement and luxury.  So, over the course of time, I have really struggled with what that meant. There were times when I thought it meant dressing like the typical Pentecostal church lady – well what does that look like?  As I look back on some photos – ewwwwwwww it was not a good look! (smile)

Then, I had a style “revelation” and I started trying to really dress for my stage in life – I had to decide on the best styles for my body (after 2 children)!  I decided to end my relationship with size obsession – I WEAR WHAT FITS AND I AM NOT ASHAMED!  When people ask me what size – I just look at them, smile and say – “I wear what fits”  and I also believe in making sure that your clothes are a good fit for your body!

Recently, I have come to a place where I am re-inventing my style and my look. Ladies, there is nothing wrong with changing your style and trying to update your look.  I started looking at all of these beautiful clothes on Pinterest and then it hit me like a ton of BRICKS – I can update my look and my style and it does not have to cost me an arm and a leg to do it.

Clothes have a way of making you feel empowered, beautiful and when you have on a great outfit – you feel like you can literally take on the world. You walk with confidence, you smile more, people smile at you, people notice you and most of all – your inner beauty comes shinning through. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being the best version of yourself each and every day you leave home!

Darling lovelies, don’t underestimate the power of our “coverings”, if you feel like you are in a style rut, then make a change TODAY!

I leave you with this quote from the icon CoCo Chanel:

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” – CoCo Chanel
